Helping Our Community

During our weekly dog training classes youth learn how to use positive reinforcement to train a variety of skills from basic home manners to competition obedience.  These classes focus on building strong bonds between dogs and their young trainers.  Youth will learn all the skills required to successfully compete in Obedience, Rally, and Trick dog.

We teach more than just dog training.  Youth will learn all the essential skills in dog care including nutrition, grooming, exercise and socialization.  Youth participants gain valuable knowledge to ensure the health and happiness of their furry companions. and health management.   We aim to cultivate responsible pet ownership and promote the well-being of both dogs and their owners.

Youth are encouraged to take part in all aspects of canine training beyond the basics.  We offer weekly agility lessons free of charge to 4-H members.

Our club participates in a variety of community service activities throughout Thurston County.  By teaching youth to serve we instill values, empower communities, encourage kindness, and establish friendships. Community service is a way of giving back and demonstrating the power of service.

Muttz-K-Teers is a 4-H club that provides a wide range of opportunities for youth to learn and explore. Our members are encouraged to train and compete in various aspects of dog 4-H, including Obedience, Showmanship, Agility, Rally, Public Presentations, Record Books, Knowledge Bowl, and Dog Judging. We are a family-oriented club, and parents are strongly encouraged to participate in club events and activities as active volunteers.  We accept all youth ages 5 to 18 years of age.  We also accept dogs of all age and breeds as long as they are fully vaccinated and are friendly with both humans and other dogs.
